The Committee

 

The Island Car Club committee is presently run by Duncan Barbaro Sant, Mark Galea, Jonathan Tonna, Peter Borg, Gordon Pace, Robert Cauchi and Kevin Monreal as event organizers, . The committee would also like to thank Mario, Consilio and Cifi for all their voluntary work to help the ICC who without them, events will not run as smoothly as the normally do.

 

 

The Venues

 

The Island Car Club currently holds eight events per year divided on six different venues currently at Ta’Pennellu/ Mellieha, Mizieb, Mistra Bay, Gnejna Bay, Ta’ Qali and Xaghra Gozo. The committee is always seeking to discover new and exciting venues to hold its events and make its championship even more interesting.

 

 

The Event

 

Every event is divided into four runs having the first and second runs as practice and the  third and fourth runs as the official timed runs. The competition is based on a determined track being driven in the shortest possible time. The events are normally held on Sundays, commencing at 9am and lasting till around 3pm.

 

Security personnel are posted along the track to make sure that the safety of both the drivers and the spectators is not in jeopardy.

 

 

Participating Vehicles

 

Approximately 50 vehicles participate in the ICC events. Vehicles vary from standard road legal cars, modified cars, rally spec cars and all the way to single seater cars. All vehicles undergo safety checks before being allowed to compete.
